Benjamin William White is an English professional football player who plays for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion and the England national team as a center-back. He started playing football for the youth of Southampton. Later on, in 2014, he played for the youth team of Brighton & Hove Albion and began his career at the club. He made his professional football debut on 9 August 2016. He has previously had spells on loan at Newport County of League Two, Peterborough United of League One, and Leeds United.  At Leeds he played in every game, helping them win the 2019-20 Championship and gain promotion to the Premier League. 

On the international level, he has represented England at the senior level. He was named in the England team for the first time in May 2021, where he was selected as part of the provisional 33-man squad for UEFA Euro 2020 and was later cut from the squad, though remained on standby for the tournament. He made his international debut for England on 2 June 2021. On 7 June, he was named to the squad for Euro 2020 as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

  • He started playing football for the youth of Southampton. 
  • Later on, in 2014, he played for the youth team of Brighton & Hove Albion and began his career at the club. He made his professional football debut on 9 August 2016 in a 4-0 home victory over Colchester United in the first round of the EFL Cup. During his 2016-17 season, he made only 4 appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion's first team in all the competitions. That season, he also made 14 appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion U23 team in all the competitions.
  • On 1 August 2017, he signed for League Two club Newport County on loan until the end of the 2017-18 season. He made his debut for the club on 8 August 2017 in a 2-0 victory over Southend United in the first round of the EFL Cup. He made his Football League debut on 12 August 2017 in a 1-1 draw against Crewe Alexandra. He made his debut for the club on 5 January 2019 in a 5-0 away loss to Middlesbrough in the third round of the FA Cup.   • On 1 July 2019, he signed for Championship club Leeds United on loan until the end of the 2019-20 season. On the same day, he also signed a new one-year contract extension at Brighton. He made his debut for the club on 4 August 2019 in a 3-1 victory against Bristol City. On 20 April 2021, after a strong performance, he was sent off after a second bookable offense in the 90+2-minute, in a game where he helped Brighton earn their first-ever point at Chelsea in a 0-0 draw. On 18 May 2021, he played in Brighton's 3-2 home victory over champions Manchester City with fans returning to football which was their first league victory against City since 1989.
