Club Career

  • Since childhood, he was interested in playing football. As his mother says, Leno would go on playing on local games especially in bad pitches with his friends, and at the age of 6, he decided to take football seriously by picking up a career. Then his family admits him to this youth team SV Germania Bietigheim in Beitigheim. He started playing him as a midfielder right since he joined the club.
  • Leno attended and clear his trials game among 200 players to join the VfB Stuttgart youth team when he was at the age of 11. He was still playing as a midfielder. He changed his playing style from midfield into goalkeeper as everyone was asked formally by his coaches who want to be goalkeeper since then he never left the goal post. He played 3 seasons for VfB Stuttgart II, 3rd division games. He has appeared in 17 games for the first season and 37 games in second and 3 games in the last season in 2011-12.

  • Leno was loaned for five months to Bayer Leverkusen on August 10, 2011. He made his debut game against Werder Bremen and became the third goalkeeper in Bundesliga to keep a clean sheet in his first three Bundesliga games.
