Burak Yilmaz is a Turkish professional football player who plays for Ligue 1 club Lille and captains the Turkey national team as a striker. He started playing football for the youth team of Antalyaspor in 1994. He signed his first professional contract in July 2002 and made his professional debut in the 2002-03 season of the TFF First League. He has previously played for Besiktas, Manisaspor, Fenerbahce, Eskisehirspor (loan), Trabzonspor, Galatasaray, and Beijing Guoan. On 1 August 2020, he joined Ligue 1 club Lille on a two-season-long contract and helped the club win its first league title for ten years.

On the international level, he has represented Turkey at various age levels. He has represented Turkey at U17, U18, U19, U20, U21, and the senior level. He made his national team debut on 12 April 2006. Since then, he has been a regular selection for the Turkey senior squad.

  • He started playing football for the youth team of Antalyaspor in 1994 and was promoted to the senior team at the age of 16. He signed his first professional contract in July 2002 and made his professional debut in the 2002-03 season of the TFF First League.
  • On 29 August 2004, he scored his first two goals at the professional level in the 2004-05 season against Karsiyaka at Izmir Alsancak Stadium. During that season, he played at 29 league matches, scoring 8 goals, thus helping his team avoid relegation.
