Francesc "Cesc" Fabregas Soler professionally known as Cesc Fabregas is a Spanish professional football player who plays for Ligue 1 club Monaco as a central midfielder. He started playing football for the youth team of Mataro in 1995. At the age of ten, he signed for Barcelona’s youth academy in 1997 and played until 2003. He then joined the youth team of Arsenal, signing for the London club on 11 September 2003. Following injuries to key midfielders in the early part of the 2004-05 season, he went on to establish himself in the team and became a key player breaking several records of the club. He won FA Community Shield in 2004 and the FA Cup in 2005 with Arsenal. On 15 August 2011, he returned to Barcelona in a deal worth up to £35 million. During his three-year spell at Camp Nou, he made 96 appearances and scored 28 goals for the club. With Barcelona, he won one La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and two Supercopa de Espana. In June 2014, he returned to London to Arsenal's cross-town rivals Chelsea for a fee of £30 million where he made 138 appearances and scored 15 goals for the club. With Chelsea, he won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, Football League Cup, and UEFA Europa League. On 11 January 2019, he signed for Monaco on a contract lasting until mid-2022 and made his league debut on 13 January 2019.

On the international level, he has represented Spain at various age levels. He has represented Spain at U16, 17, U20, U21, and the senior level. He made his debut for the Spanish national team in March 2006.  He represented his country in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2008, 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, 2010 World Cup, Euro 2012, 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, the 2014 World Cup, and Euro 2016.
