Chanathip Songkrasin is a Thai professional football player who plays for Japanese club Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo and the Thailand national team as an attacking midfielder. He started playing football for Sam Phran Wittaya School in 2006. He then played for Rajdamnerm Commercial College in 2009. In 2011, he joined the youth team of BEC Tero Sasana and began his career at the club. He made his senior team debut for the club on 10 March 2013. On 27 January 2016, he joined Muangthong United on loan for the 2016 season. He made his debut for the club on 2 February 2016 in the AFC Champions League qualification. Later on, with his excellent, on 1 July 2016, he permanently joined Muangthong United for an undisclosed fee and helped his club to win the 2016 Thai League and 2016 Thai League Cup in his first season. On 1 July 2017, he joined a newly promoted J.League side Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo in the summer of 2017 on a loan lasting for a season and a half. He made his debut for the club on 26 July 2017 in the 2017 J League Cup. With his excellent performances, on 13 July 2018, he signed a permanent contract with Consadole Sapporo, making him a permanent Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo player from 1 February 2019.

On the international level, he has represented Thailand at various age levels. He has represented Thailand at U19, U23, and the senior level. He was part of the Thailand U19 squad that won the 2011 AFF U19 Youth Championship in Myanmar. He made his international team debut for Thailand on 14 November 2012. He was also part of the Thailand U23 squad that won the 2013 and 2015 Sea Games. With Thailand national team, he has won three AFF Championship and one Kings’ Cup where he has made over 55 caps and scored over 10 goals for his country.

He made his debut for the club on 26 July 2017 in a 1-0 loss against Cerezo Osaka in the 2017 J League Cup. On 29 July 2017, he was part of the starting lineup against Urawa Red Diamonds in the 2017 J1 League. This is his ever first match in J1 League. Besides, he became the first Thai footballer to appear in the top tier of Japan’s professional football league system (Previously, other Thais only appeared in Japanese football semi-professional top tier or professional lower tiers). In his first season, he made 17 appearances for the club, providing 1 assist in all the competitions.
  • On 2 March 2018, he scored his first J-League goal for the club in a 3-3 draw against Cerezo Osaka. With his excellent performances, on 13 July 2018, he signed a permanent contract with Consadole Sapporo, making him a permanent Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo player from 1 February 2019. During his 2017-18 season, he made 31 appearances for the club, scoring 9 goals and providing 3 assists in all the competitions as Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo finished 4th place in J1 League that season. Additionally, he was voted by his teammates as the team's most valuable player of the season and also was announced as one of the players in the J. League team of the season, being the first Southeast Asian person in history to do so.
