Granger Smith: Reaction Towards Death of River Smith

River Kelly Smith was the youngest born child of the family born on May 16, 2016. The river was the joy and the happiness of the family as he was the loved one among his elder siblings.

Just after three years and one month of his birth, River, unfortunately, died, even though the best effort of the doctors couldn't help him.

The destiny comes from heaven, all written and all planned, the same thing happened in River's case. It was the call from God and no one could fight against it.

Granger also mentioned:

“Our family is devastated and heartbroken, but we take solace in knowing he is with his Heavenly Father. Riv was special. Everyone that met him knew that immediately.

The joy he brought to our lives cannot be expressed and his light will be forever in our hearts. If there are words to say more, I cannot find them at this moment. Love the ones close to you.  There has never been a more difficult moment for us than this”.

Granger asked for people to donate to "Dell Children's Medical Center" in Austin, Texas, "in River's name" instead of sending any "flowers or gifts".

Granger's wife, Amber, also shared the devastating news on her Instagram along with a selfie with her son, sharing the same message as her husband, and further adding that:

"Nothing can prepare a mother to deliver this kind of news."

Many celebrities including Kane Brown, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, and Maren Morris, all shared sympathetic messages of support for the Smith family.

More notably Morgan Miller, the pro volleyball player whose also 19-month-old daughter passed due to drowning spoke out through her Instagram Story with the caption: "Another baby went too soon".

“I can't imagine what y’all are going through. Praying for you and your family brother. We are heartbroken for you guys”.
“I am so, so sorry. Thinking of you and your family at this time”.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, children between the ages of 1 and 4 have the highest drowning rates, with most happening in swimming pools at home.
