But the aging Portuguese star Ronaldo who currently plays for Italian club Juventus never lets himself down. He is already the greatest footballer of all-time in the history of football, and Ronaldo record-breaking saga is still on. Among several accolades and achievements, he has added one more record to his accounts.

Ronaldo Surpasses Irish Legend Robbie Kean to Become European Championships Qualifiers All-Time Top Goalscorer

Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed legendary Irish footballer, Robbie Kean as the top goals scorer in Euro championships qualifiers on 10 September 2019. Robbie Kean hung up his boots from an international career with 68 goals for his national team. He held the record for most European championship qualifiers goals with 23 goals. Keane joked about his record via his social media accounts ahead of Portugal's match against Lithuania. He joked Ronaldo not to break his record in the Euro qualifiers. He wrote, "leave this one. I think you have enough records, Cristiano!". 

Prior to Portugal's match against Lithuania, Ronaldo was two goals short to tie with Keane's record. And then the Ronaldo happened. 

Ronaldo replied Keane joke with a poker. Ronaldo shone for Portugal when he scored four goals in a 5-1 win against Lithuania. Ronaldo scored the first-half penalty and a second-half hattrick for Portugal's comfortable victory over Lithuania. William Carvalho scored the last goal in the added time for Portugal. Ronaldo not only surpassed Keane's record of 23 goals in Euro qualifiers, but he also made several records after scoring a poker.

Can Ronaldo Surpass Iranian Legend Ali Daei To Become All-time Top Goal Scorer?

Ronaldo is now the top goal scorer in Euro championship qualifiers with 25 goals. 

He has now 93 international goals for Portugal in 160 appearances in all competitions. Among active footballers, he already ranks on the top of highest goalscorer in football history.

He has now scored against 40 different countries in his career, which no other players have achieved this feat yet. 

He is now 16 goals behind Iranian legend Ali Daei's record as all-time top goalscorer. Daei has 106 international goals and is the all-time highest goal scorer in international level. Ronaldo surely eyes to break this record in the near future as he is no close to his retirement yet. Legendary Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskas remains at number 3 with 83 international goals.  

Ronaldo's Hattrick against Lithuania marked his 8th international hattrick. Six of his international hattricks came after he turned 31.
