Emil Peter Forsberg is a Swedish professional football player who plays for RB Leipzig and the Sweden national team as a winger. He started playing football for the youth team of GIF Sundsvall and began his career at the club. On 1 January 2013, he joined Malmo FF for a four-year contract lasting until the end of the 2016 season. He made his debut for Malmo FF on 2 March 2013 in the group stage of Svenska Cupen. On 7 January 2015, he joined German second league side RB Leipzig on a three and a half year deal. He made his debut for RB Leipzig on 6 February 2015. Due to his impressive first season with the club in February 2016, his contract was extended until 2021.

On the international level, he has represented Sweden at various age levels. He has represented Sweden at U19 and the senior level. He made his international debut for Sweden on 17 January 2014. He was part of the Sweden squad that played in the 2016 Euro and was a team member who reached the 2018 World Cup quarter-finals. In June 2021, he was included in Sweden’s squad for UEFA Euro 2020. Since making his debut, he has obtained over 60 caps for his country and has won 2016, 2017, 2019 Swedish Midfielder of the Year.
