The wait for the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards nominations is over. Emmy has announced their nominations for its 71st edition. Comedian and actors, Ken Jeong, and D'Arcy Carden announced the nominations for this year on 16 July 2019. Emmy will honor the best in US television programming in different categories. Game of Thrones, the fantasy drama series that ended this year after 8 seasons, led the nominations with fourteen nominations in drama, followed by When They See Us with 11 nominations in limited/movie categories and Barry with 9 nominations in comedy. Game of Thrones also set the new record of most nominations in the same year with 32. In doing so, Game of Thrones broke the 25 years long record previously held by NYPD Blue, which had 26 nominations in 1994. Other major nominees from different categories are Barry, Escape at Dannemora, Fosse/Verdon, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Chernobyl, Fleabag, Killing Eve, This Is Us, Veep, Better Call Saul, and Ozark among others.

Nominations came from all television programs from 1 June 2018 until 31 May 2019. HBO led the nomination in numbers, followed by Netflix and Amazon among others. Whether or not, the most popular drama series Game of Thrones dominates Emmys this year, we will have to wait for it until September 2019. The ceremony is scheduled to be held on 22 September 2019 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony will be broadcast by Fox. We wish best wishes to all the nominees, nominated for one of the most prestigious honors in the television industry.
