Julián Álvarez is an Argentine professional football player who plays for the Argentinian club River Plate, on loan from Premier League club Manchester City and the Argentina national team as a forward. He began his career at River Plate and made his professional debut for the club on 27 October 2018. On 31 January 2022, he signed for Premier League club Manchester City on a five-and-a-half-year contract deal, with the transfer fee nearing £14 million but with the player remaining at River Plate on loan until the end of 2021-22 season.

On the international level, he has represented Argentina at various age levels. He has represented Argentina at U20, U23, and the senior level.
