She was battling critical injuries when she got struck while she was walking down the road in New York City. 

Confirming the news of her tragic death at the age of 65, her representative said, "We are heartsick over Lisa's tragic and senseless passing. She was a woman of great spirit, kindness, and generosity, and dedication to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera, and even more so to her wife, family, and friends. We were blessed to have had her in our lives."

Her death has left many of her fans and family in grief and shock.
