Who is Antoine Griezmann?

One of the most popular football players of all time Antoine Griezmann is a French professional footballer who plays for the French national team as well as for the Spanish football club "Atletico Madrid". Griezmann having won the "FIFA World Cup 2018" for France is an aspiring footballer. Griezmann has been appointed in the club "Atletico Madrid" since a long time back in 2014, with an annual salary of $12 million. He has a weekly salary of 200,000 Euros. Griezmann had an estimated net worth of $21 million as of 2018 with all of his properties and incomes.

Currently, Griezmann has confirmed of being out of his five-year-long club "Atletico Madrid" via a video uploaded in the club's Twitter page and maybe he'll be having a new exploration with Barcelona.

Almost a year after the "World Cup 2018", the fabulous French player Antoine Greizmann having won the title of "World Cup" for France, now have waved farewell to the club "Atletico Madrid", at the end of all football leagues. The French World Cup winner Griezmann's announcement to quit the club this summer via a video posted on the club's Twitter page has come as a bit of a shock. After enduring the drama surrounding his potential last summer, many thought he was committed to Atletico for more than a year, now seems to have changed.

Antoine Griezmann joined the Spanish football club "Atletico Madrid" from Sociedad in a contract of 30 million Euro, after the world cup 2014, the second most expensive signing of the club. The Frenchman had made an announcement before the FIFA World Cup 2018, that he will stay at the "Atletico" after he signed a new contract (with the buyout clause of 20 million Euro per year) of having him in the club till 2023. He had been an important player for the Rojiblancos since his transfer from the Basque outfit.

However, the front-player now has confirmed of leaving the club saying the league game with Levante on Saturday on 18th May 2019 will be his last match for the club. Being in the club, Griezmann has scored 133 goals.

Antoine Griezmann has been linked with clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona during his five-year stay with the Spanish capital club. And for the final home game of the club, Griezmann arrived wearing the Club's shirt having "Godin 2" on the back- in homage to the departing central defender.

In the video shared on the club's official Twitter account, Griezmann paid an emotional tribute to fans for their support throughout his stay at the club.

{"It’s been an incredible five years; Thank you very much for everything, I take you in my heart," he said in the video. "To tell you I have taken the decision to leave. To see other things, to have other challenges. The truth is it has been difficult to take this route but it is what I feel I need and I would like to thank all of you for the love you have shown me," he continued.}

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said he was "disappointed" by Antoine Griezmann's decision to leave the La Liga club as what Cerezo thought was a bright future for both player and club behind. “The club has worked hard for him to stay and we feel happy and enthusiastic about it,” coach Diego Simeone said at the weekend but on Tuesday Atlético released a statement saying that Griezmann had informed them of his decision. Standing alone as he explains the decision, Griezmann’s farewell could hardly be more different from Godín’s( departed central defender of the club).

The Frenchman possesses a bit more pace and greater technical ability, while we could write several pieces about his technical ability, one of Griezmann’s most underrated attributes is his ability to track back. The technical ability, ability to track back and having more pace, have made the French player to be the wanting player of today's world.

At this point, Griezmann has a lot of handful offers and it would be a huge surprise if Griezmann comes up to anywhere other than the Camp Nou, even if his €120 million fees will stretch the club to the limit financially. Some might say it’s a lot of cash for a player who turns 29 next season too.

Griezmann has a buy-out clause of about €120 million (£105 million) in the contract that he signed at Atletico which kicks in on July 1, 2019. He says that, at 28, he is ready to leave the club, and explore more.

The fact that the French player is able to leave, before his contract is up in 2023, without the clubs consent is due to an exit clause in the contract. The exit clause was originally 200 million euros but will drop to 120 million on July 1, 2019. Griezmann informed his club that another club was willing to pay that amount, but he has not yet revealed the identity of his future employer.

At the moment, Barcelona is in pole position to land Antoine Griezmann's services in their club and if successful, will have landed another world-class footballer. With a mixture of Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, Griezmann on the wings, Barcelona are able to begin the natural transition of Lionel Messi into a more central role.

Griezmann was ready to join Barcelona last summer, but he rebuffed the Catalans at the last second when the buyout clause was 100 million Euro. Also, it was an embarrassment to the Barcelona club last summer that Atletico was able to beat Griezmann’s €17 million annual wage offer from Barcelona.

His sale value won’t be as high as his purchase price, but Barca will be loathed to take a big loss. In any event, there still needs to be a handful of other outgoings to balance the books. And staying in La Liga and playing with the world-class player Lionel Messi in Barcelona would bring out a new taste in the game, right?

“Looks Like The French World-Class Player Antione Griezmann Now Have Made The Right Decision.”
