He had been an important player for the Rojiblancos since his transfer from the Basque outfit.
However, the front-player now has confirmed of leaving the club saying the league game with Levante on Saturday on 18th May 2019 will be his last match for the club. Being in the club, Griezmann has scored 133 goals.
Antoine Griezmann has been linked with clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona during his five-year stay with the Spanish capital club. And for the final home game of the club, Griezmann arrived wearing the Club's shirt having "Godin 2" on the back- in homage to the departing central defender.
In the video shared on the club's official Twitter account, Griezmann paid an emotional tribute to fans for their support throughout his stay at the club.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said he was "disappointed" by Antoine Griezmann's decision to leave the La Liga club as what Cerezo thought was a bright future for both player and club behind. “The club has worked hard for him to stay and we feel happy and enthusiastic about it,” coach Diego Simeone said at the weekend but on Tuesday Atlético released a statement saying that Griezmann had informed them of his decision.
