Marcus Smart Shoved Joel Embiid of Philadelphia 76ers
Marcus Smart of the Boston Celtics could not resist his nerve and went on to shove Joel Embiid early in the third quarter during the Celtics match against the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid is seen to throwing an elbow on Smart and Smart falls on to the ground. Furious Smart then stands up and shoves Embiid with his two hands from behind and Embiid falls down on the floor.
Following the altercation between the two, the officials hit Smart with a flagrant foul 2 resulting in his immediate ejection in the early minutes of the third quarter. On the other hand, Embiid was hit with a technical foul for his role in the play. Philadelphia went on to win 118-115 over the Celtics.
If the league does not impose any further disciplinary actions against him, he should return Saturday against Charlotte.
