Martin Callie Boyle is a Scottish-born Australian professional football player who plays for Scottish Premiership club Hibernian and the Australia national team as a winger. He has previously played for Montrose and Dundee.

On the international level, born in Scotland, he represented Scotland at the U16 level. He was eligible to play for both Scotland and Australia. He holds both Scotland and Australian nationality but chose to represent Australia internationally. He made his international debut for Australia on 7 November 2018. Martin Boyle Club Career

  • He started his career with Montrose where he made his debut for the club on 6 February 2010 in a 5-1 loss against Hibernian in a 2009-10 Scottish Cup, at the age of 16.  He was the top scorer for the Montrose U17 team in season 2009-10 and also finished 2010-11 as the top scorer in the U19 side.
  • He signed a senior contract in August 2010 and scored his first goal for the first team on 25 September 2010 in an 8-1 win against Clyde FC. In his first season, he made 28 appearances for the club, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist in all the competitions.
  • On 5 May 2012, he scored his first hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Clyde. During his 2011-12 season, he made 41 appearances for the club, scoring 22 goals and providing 7 assists in all the competitions as he received an award for scoring the most goals in the Scottish Football League. 
  • In the summer of 2012, he trained with Aberdeen but returned for pre-season training with Montrose, playing in their 2-0 defeat to Stenhousemuir on 7 July. He made four appearances (one in the league, two in the Challenge Cup, and one in Scottish Football League) at the outset of the new season.
  • On 16 August 2012, he signed for Scottish Premier League club Dundee. He made his debut for the club on 19 August 2012 in a 3-0 loss against Dundee United. In his first season, he made 10 appearances in total for the club, being an unused substitute on several occasions.

  • On 25 January 2013, he signed for his former club Montrose on loan for the rest of the season and made his second debut for the club on 26 January 2013 in a 1-1 draw against Rangers. On 2 February 2013, he scored his first goal since returning to Montrose in a 4-1 win over East Stirlingshire. On 23 February he scored four goals in a 5-1 win over Annan Athletic. Because of his goalscoring form, Boyle was awarded February's Irn-Bru SFL Young Player of the Month award. During his loan spell at Montrose, he made 18 appearances for the club, scoring 9 goals and providing 8 assists in all the competitions.
  • Following his impressive displays at Montrose, he was given kept at Dundee in the 2013-14 season. On 8 February 2014, he scored his first goal for the club in a 1-0 win against Hamilton Academical FC. During his 2013-14 season, he made 32 appearances for the club, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists in all the competitions as Dundee was promoted for Scottish Premiership by winning the 2013-14 Scottish Championship title.

  • Despite featuring in the first team, he struggled to score his first league goal of the season. On 3 January 2015, he was loaned to second-tier Hibernian for the second half of the 2014-15 season. He made his debut for the club on 3 January 2015 in a 1-1 draw to Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Championship. On 31 January 2015, he scored his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw against Raith Rovers.
