He has previously played for Adelaide United, Borussia Monchengladbach II, Borussia Monchengladbach, FSV Frankfurt, FC Ingolstadt 04, and Hertha BSC. On 5 June 2021, he signed a three-year deal to join Melbourne City FC on a free transfer.

  • He started playing football for the youth team of Bulleen Lions and began his career at the club. There he made 37 appearances and scored 15 goals for the club.
  • On 1 July 2009, he then signed to Adelaide United for a two-year professional contract. He made his A-League debut for the club on 18 September 2009 in a 2-0 loss against Melbourne Victory. On 26 September 2009, he scored his first goal for Adelaide United in a 2-0 win against North Qld Fury. On 24 February 2010, he scored the winning goal in his first AFC Champions League match in a 1-0 win against the reigning champions Pohang Steelers at Hindmarsh Stadium.
