  • In the same year, she reached till the fourth round of the U.S. Open but couldn’t make past it. In the following year, she fought very hard to reach the semifinal round at Wimbledon.
  • She was one of the best players on the women’s tour in 2011. Her major success came as she crushed Kim Clijsters, who was number 1 at the time, to conquest the Open Gaz de France.  
  • Afterward, she won the Mutua Madrid Open. Moreover, she defeated Maria Sharapova to earn the women’s singles title at age 21. It proved to be her career-defining triumph. 
  • Later on, she earned the WTA Tour Championships in 2011. Due to the most successful year in her entire career, she secured the rank of world number 2.
  • Next year, she reached semifinals in both the tournaments, the Australian Open, and the French Open. Unfortunately, she failed to defend her Wimbledon title losing to Serena Williams.

  • She then claimed her second title in Sydney. She defeated Aryna Sabalenka and Hsieh Su-Wei to reach her first quarterfinal on Australian soil since winning here in 2015. There, she defeated defending champion Angelique Kerber and then moved past Aliaksandra Sasnovich to book her place in the final. There, she came back from a set down to defeat Ashleigh Barty, winning her 26th career title.
  • began 2020 at the Brisbane International. Seeded fifth, she recorded her best result here since winning the title in 2011 by making the semifinals where she lost to eighth seed Madison Keys in three sets.
  • She then made the quarterfinals of the Australian Open with wins over Kateřina Siniaková, Paula Badosa, 25th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova and 22nd seed Maria Sakkari. This result saw Kvitová record consecutive quarterfinal appearances at the same Grand Slam tournament since the 2014 Wimbledon Championships. There, however, she succumbed to world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty, her fourth consecutive loss to the Aussie.
