Sergino Dest started his professional football career from the Dutch club, Ajax. He was part of the Ajax team that won the 2019 Johan Cruyff Shield. He gained more fame after he was signed by one of the top clubs in Europe, Barcelona in 2020. On 1 October  2020, he signed a five-year contract with Barcelona for an initial €21 million fee plus a further €5 million in variables. He made his debut for the club on 4 October 2020. With the appearance, Dest became the first American to appear for Barcelona in La Liga. On 1 September 2022, he signed for Serie A club AC Milan on a one-year loan with an option to buy for €20 million.
