Who is U.S Gymnast Simone Biles?

Tevin Biles, the brother of Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, was found sitting in Liberty County jail, facing the serious murder charges of fire shooting in the 2018 New Yer’s Eve at Cleveland, Ohio that affected five people: two people dead at the spot, one at the hospital while the other two were injured in the late-night of December 31, 2018.

Tevin Biles-Thomas, 24 was taken under custody on August 29, 2019, and is being held in the Liberty County Jail until September 13 arrangement in Cuyahoga County Commons Pleas Court.

He is charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault and perjury in a fatal shooting in Cleveland. According to a joint statement released by the Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s office, “An Altercation Ensued followed by gunfire”.

Tevin Biles is the brother of well known US gymnast and the five-time Olympic medalist and a 14-time world champion Simone Biles. Simone Biles is the most talented and most flexible gymnast that the world ever had.

Earlier the month of August 2019 she became the first gymnast to attempt and land a double-twisting, double somersault dismount off the balance beam.

The two siblings seem to have a great relationship with each other as they are seen quite active in social media and are found posting about each other.

After Tevin Biles’s arrest on August 29, 2019, Simone Biles tweeted two messages:

* “Let people assume incorrectly.”

* “Eating my feelings don’t talk to me.”

Currently, Biles-Thomas is serving as an army specialist at Ft. Stewart in Hinesville, Georgia. Ft. Stewart serves as a training ground for the National Guard and also was a mobilized area for soldiers preparing for deployment to Iraq at that time.

He was promoted to the rank of army specialist after serving for two years and attending a training class.

Tevin Biles-Thomas is under Georgia authorities’ custody and is charged with a very serious case of a triple murder at Ohio on December 13, 2018.

After almost an eight-month investigation, Biles-Thomas is found guilty and is charged with six counts of murder, three counts of voluntary manslaughter, five counts of felonious assault and one count of perjury. 

The incident occurred during the 2019 New Year’s Eve Party at an apartment rented through Airbnb in Cleveland, Ohio on December 13, 2018. Several uninvited people arrived at the spot at approximately 11:45 p.m., that called out for a fight and shooting started. 

Devante Johnson, 19 and Toshaun Banks, 21, were dead right at the spot while Devaughn Gibson, 23, was dead at hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds as reported by MetroHealth Medical Center.

Besides, two other people were also injured however, they got treated right at the time.

Tevin Biles Thomas Biography

Tevin Biles-Thomas was born in 1985 in Columbus, Ohio, US. He was born to mother Shanon Biles. He has three siblings sisters: Simone, Adria and Ashley Biles. However, he grew up with different relatives.

When Simone Biles was three-years-old, Tevin and her other two siblings were placed in foster care because of their biological mother, Shanon Biles’s drug and alcohol abuse.

Eventually, Simone and younger sister Adria were adopted by their maternal grandfather, Ron Biles and were raised in Houston, Texas, US. While, Tevin and sister Ashley were adopted by Ron Biles’ sister, Harriet Thomas, and were raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Harriet died in 2017 at the age of 77.

Tevin Biles-Thomas attended John F. Kennedy High School and graduated from St. Martin de Porres High School in Cleveland in 2013.  He then joined the U.S. Army in 2014.
