Theodor Gebre Selassie is a Czech professional football player who plays for German club Werder Bremen either as a right-back or as a winger-back. He started playing football for the youth team of Velke Mezirici in 1992 and played there until 1998. In 1998, he joined the youth team of Vysocina Jihlava. In 2005, he eventually got promoted to Velke Mezirici‘s senior team. On 2 July 2005, he rejoined Velke Mezirici on loan where he made 8 appearances for the club. On 25 September 2007, he joined Slavia Prague and won the Czech Fist League with the club in his first season. On 16 September 2008, he moved to Slovan Liberec and made his debut for the club on 21 September 2008. He then spent his entire professional career at Werder Bremen, making over 250 appearances and scoring over 20 goals for the club. 

On the international level, he has represented the Czech Republic at various age levels. He has represented Czech Republic at U21 and the senior level. He made his Czech Republic national team debut on 4 June 2011. He was selected in their squad to play for UEFA Euro 2012 and UEFA Euro 2016. In May 2019, he announced his retirement from the national team. He earned 54 caps and scored three goals for his country.
