Yosuke Ideguchi is a Japanese professional football player who plays for Scottish Premiership club Celtic and the Japan national team as a central midfielder. He is also known as “Guchi”. He has previously played for Gamba Osaka, J.League U22 (loan), Leeds United, Cultural Leonesa (loan), Greuther Furth (loan), and Greuther Furth II (loan).

Yosuke Ideguchi Club Career

  • He started playing football for the youth team of Aburayama Kameriazu. 
  • In 2009, he joined the youth team of Gamba Osaka and began his career at the club. He made his senior team debut for the club on 16 April 2014 in a 2-0 win against Sagan Tosu in J. League Cup. During his 2013-14 season, he made 2 appearances for the club in all the competitions as Gamba Osaka won the J. League Division 1, Emperor’s Cup, and J. League Cup that season.

  • On 21 August 2018, he joined 2. Bundesliga side Greuther Furth a season-long loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent. On 15 September 2018, he scored on his debut for the club in a 4-1 win against Holstein Kiel.  On 30 September 2018, he was substituted in a 1-0 win over Dynamo Dresden with what later was revealed to be a posterior cruciate ligament injury, expected to keep him out for most of the season. Having spent the initial part of his rehabilitation in Japan, he returned to Germany at the start of 2019. On 6 May 2019, he made his first competitive appearance after the injury, coming on as a substitute as Greuther Furth lost 4-0 at home to 1. FC Koln. During his loan spell at Greuther Furth, he made 8 appearances for the club, scoring once in all the competitions, with him missing the majority of the season due to his posterior cruciate ligament injury.
