Moreover, he is also the president of the Blackhawks' parent company, the Wirtz Corporation, a diversified conglomerate headquartered in Chicago. He oversees Wirtz Corporation's commercial and residential real estate companies, wine and spirits distributor, formerly Wirtz Beverage Group, now Breakthru Beverage Group, an insurance company, and banks in Illinois and Florida. He took over the Blackhawks following his father's death in 2007. His change in management style was praised by fans and, in 2010, led to the team's first Stanley Cup victory since 1961. His grandfather, Arthur Wirtz, bought the Blackhawks in 1954. Further, he is also half-owner of the Blackhawks' home arena, the United Center, along with Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf.
