Slim Jxmmi is an American hip hop artist known for his hip hop duo, Rae Sremmurd formed with his brother, Swae Lee. His birth name is Aaquil Iben Shamon Brown. The duo is best known for their single "Black Beatle" from their second album Sremmlife 2, which won them a Billboard Music Award for Top Rap Collaboration category. They were also awarded BET Awards for Best Group in 2016. Their other hit singles are "No Type", "No Flex Zone", and "Swang".

One of his tweets wrote, "I’m not Rae Sremmurd I’m slim jxmmi and ima sink or swim by myself." He deleted his tweets later.

Another member of Rae Sremmurd is his own brother, Swae Lee. The group has given few hit singles and has released 3 studio albums together. They have also pursued their solo career alongside. 

If Slim Jxmmi's tweet really meant the end of Rae Sremmurd, both the brothers will pursue their solo careers, as they have been working on solo projects as well.

Early Life of Slim Jxmmi

Slim Jxmmi was born on 29 December 1993 in Inglewood, California in the United States. His birth name is Aaquil Iben Shamon Brown. He holds American nationality. His mother-name is Bernadette Walker. The identity of his father is unknown, as he abandoned his family when they were children. He has two siblings, Michael Brown and Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown. His brother, Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown is popularly known as Swae Lee. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. He belongs to white ethnicity. The brothers moved to different states during their childhood because his mother worked for the army and moved to several states. They finally settled in the military post of Fort Hood in Texas. They moved back to Mississippi after their mother left the army. Their mother married Floyd Sullivan. They have a stepbrother named Floyd Jr. Sullivan. They finally settled in Tupelo, Mississippi. The Brown brother met Jemiah Middlebrooks in Tupelo and found a hip hop group, "Dem Outta St8 Boyz" in 2009.

He took the stage name, "CaliBoy", whereas his brother took the name "Kid Krunk" and Jemiah took the name "Lil Pantz".

They earned money working part-time jobs to buy equipment and to work on producing music. 

Initially, they released their songs and dance videos on social media.

They became friends with a young disc jockey, Jermarcus Jackson, popularly known as Jay Sremm or JJ.

They started returning home late and skip school more often. Thus, their mother kicked them out of the house.

They eventually living in an abandoned house and organize parties to promote their music. 

In early 2010, their group released their single, "Party Animal". 

They participated qualified for the BET show, "106 & Park".

They met and later collaborated with young rapper, Andre "King Dre" Harris. The young rapper is popular by the name BoBo Swae at present. 

The group released their first project in 2010 and distributed it locally.

Lil Pantz left the group due to legal problems in the mid-2011. Andre replaced him.

He changed his name from "CaliBoy" to "Weirdo" and his brother changed his name from "King Krunk" to "Kid The Great".

They moved to Georgia looking to promote their music and earned a little more recognition.

They released their second project, "Three Stooges Mixtape" at the beginning of 2012.

Their group dissolved for a while due to financial problems. Later, they returned to Atlanta.

They performed in local shows, earning them local attention in the hip hop scene.

After King Dre left the group, the brother renamed their group, "Rae Sremmurd" and their names as well. He changed his name from "Weirdo to "Slim Jimmy" his brother changed his name to "iHipster Lee".

The brothers eventually changed their names to "Slim Jxmmi" and "Swae Lee" in 2013.

The brothers signed a record label with the newly formed label, "EarDrummers Entertainment".

The duo released their first single, "#MikeWiLLBeenTriLL" as a promotional single in early 2014.

Their first official single "No Flex Zone" earned them wider recognition. And its remix featuring Pusha T and Nicki Minaj helped them to earn popularity.

They released their debut album, an EP, titled "SremmLife" in January 2015. The album turned out to be breakthrough album of their career.

Their first two singles received platinum certifications by RIAA in January 2015. 

They debuted their own first worldwide concert tour, "SremmLife Tour" in September 2015.

Their debut album earned several nominations and won their first award, the BET Award for Best Group in June 2015.
