Slim Jxmmi was born on 29 December 1993 in Inglewood, California in the United States. His birth name is Aaquil Iben Shamon Brown. He holds American nationality. His mother-name is Bernadette Walker. The identity of his father is unknown, as he abandoned his family when they were children. He has two siblings, Michael Brown and Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown. The Brown brother met Jemiah Middlebrooks in Tupelo and found a hip hop group, "Dem Outta St8 Boyz" in 2009.

He took the stage name, "CaliBoy", whereas his brother took the name "Kid Krunk" and Jemiah took the name "Lil Pantz".

They earned money working part-time jobs to buy equipment and to work on producing music. 

Initially, they released their songs and dance videos on social media.
