Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is a South African model and beauty pageant titleholder. She is the former Miss South Africa 2017 and Miss Universe 2017. She became the second Miss South Africa after Margaret Gardiner to be crowned as the Miss Universe.

The 2017 Miss Universe from South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, 23, is now engaged to an American baseball player, Tim Tebow, 31. They got engaged on 9 January 2019 at Tebow's family farm in Jacksonville, Florida. They both posted photos of their engagement on their respective Instagram accounts. 

She posted 3 sweet memorable pictures of their engagement and wrote, "Any dreams I’ve ever had, you’ve exceeded them all! I love you and I can’t wait to spend forever with you! @timtebow ".

In the first Tim is bent on one knee and proposed to her. Other two pictures reflect their tender moments after she accepted the proposal.

She attended North-West University, where she studied a bachelor's degree in business management and entrepreneurship.

She worked part-time modeling for Boss Models and Vision Management Cape Town.

In 2017 Miss South Africa beauty pageant, she represented Western Cape. She was crowned the new Miss South Africa 2017.

She had the right to represent South Africa in both Miss World 2017 and Miss Universe 2017. 

She was sent to Miss Universe 2017, as the dates of the two pageants, Miss Universe and Miss World coincided.

She represented South Africa in the 2017 Miss Universe held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
