Club Career

Iker Casillas joined the Real Madrid's youth system in 1990.  

He was first called up to the senior team squad in November 1997 in the UEFA Champions League. He was only 16 then. He remained on the bench throughout. 

He made his UEFA Champions League in September 1999. In doing so, he became the youngest goalkeeper ever to debut in the competition at the time, at 18 years and 177 days. His record was later broken by Mile Svilar in October 2017.
