Jake Burton was born on April 29, 1954, in Cedarhurst, New York, United States. His birth name was Jake Burton Carpenter. His nationality was American. Burton belonged to White ethnicity while Taurus is his zodiac sign.

Burton has been one of the world's largest snowboard and snowboarding-equipment manufacturers since the late 1980s. He even helped to organize the first U.S. Open Snowboarding Championship in 1982 at the Suicide Six ski area. 

Besides, Burton was also a member of the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame. He was a sort of a godfather of snowboarding and the youth movement toward action sports.

Jake Burton Carpenter passed away recently on November 20, 2019, due to testicular cancer. Burton Carpenter died in Burling, Vermont due to the complications of his cancer. Earlier the month of November 2019, Burton was again diagnosed with cancer. Burton was previously diagnosed with cancer in 2011 after which it was treated well but it again came back in 2019. Burton couldn't take it and died. 

Previously, Burton Carpenter was seriously injured as he was paralyzed for several weeks with a rare disorder called Miller Fisher syndrome in 2015. He was so sick that he required feed tubing and breathing machines.
