Jay Christopher Cutler, professionally known as Jay Cutler is a retired American football quarterback. He spent 12 seasons in National Football League playing for Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Miami Dolphins. The Broncos selected him with the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2006 NFL draft. He posted 4,920 passing attempts, 2,048 passing completions, 62.0 percentage, 35,133 passing yards, 227-160 TD-INT, and 85.3 passer ratings. 

He became a sportscaster for NFL on Fox's television broadcasts. He played college football at Vanderbilt University.

College Career

He attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He started all 45 career games that he played for the Vanderbilt Commodores football team. He did not miss a game in college due to injury. 

He set the school record for touchdowns and rushing yards by a freshman and rushed for more yards than any other Southeastern Conference quarterback in 2002. 

He was honored with a first-team freshman All-SEC selection by the Associated Press.

As a senior, he started in 11 games completing 273 of 42 passes for 3,073 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. 

He was the first Commodore to win the SEC Offensive Player of the Year since 1967. He also became the second Commodore to throw for more than 3,000 yards in a season.  

He was a three-year captain and four-year starter and set a school career records for total offenses (9,953 yards), touchdown passes (59), passing yards (8,697), pass completions (710), pass attempts (1,242), and combined touchdowns (76).

He graduated from Vanderbilt with a bachelor's degree in human and organizational development in 2005.

Experts ranked him as the third-best quarterback prospect in the 2006 NFL Draft. The Denver Broncos selected him with the 11th overall pick in the 1st round of the 2006 NBA draft. 

He played for the Broncos for 3 seasons before moving to The Chicago Bears in 2009.
