It was reported that she wrote the song in just 15 minutes. Having started her career in music with her debut album, "Thug Misses", in 2002, she has managed to establish herself to be an accomplished rapper in the music industry. She also collaborated with Miley Cyrus on her song "We Can't Stop."

Khia was born on November 8, 1977, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Her birth name is Khia Shamone Chambers. Her nationality is American. Khia belongs to African-American ethnicity while Scorpio is her zodiac sign. 

Khia was raised in a middle-class family in Germantown neighborhood by her father, who worked in Miami, and her mother, Carol Belinda Chambers, a data entry specialist, who died in 2001. She grew up in Germantown until she was 11 when she moved to Tampa, Florida, where she attended Dowdell Middle School and Hillsborough High School. 

Khia however, was expelled from Hillsborough during ninth grade after which she attended an alternative school. Growing up, she found her career to go well in the music industry, and thus she decided to become a rapper. Before becoming a rapper, she worked as a bartender at Club XS in Tampa, Florida.

  • Khia began her professional career as a rapper with the release of her debut album, "Thug Misses" in 2002 on Dirty Down/Artemis Records. Its lead single "My Neck, My Back (Lick It)" became a breakthrough single, charting at #42 on the Hot 100 chart and #12 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart and was also featured on the soundtrack of Fox Broadcasting.
  • Khia appeared on a track with Trick Daddy and Tampa Tony called "Jump On It" in 2004.
  • Her second album, "Street Preacher" was set to be released in 2003, but the album got shelved for unknown reasons.
  • In 2005, Khia released with Germany's best-known rapper SIDO the track "Badesong" that was placed in German charts.
  • Khia then recorded another album to be her second album, "Gangstress", which was released in 2006  on Phase One Communications that debuted at #67 on the Billboard R&B chart.

  • Khia hosted a weekly gossip web series entitled "The Queen’s Court" alongside her friend Ts Madison in 2017. They even collaborated on the single "Next Caller," which also serves as the show's theme song. However, she left the show following disagreements with Madison.
  • Khia returned to solo vlogging with her new weekly web-series titled "GAG ORDER" on March 5, 2018.
  • In October 2018, she released a single called "Kash Only". Subsequently, in December 2018, Khia released her seventh album, and first greatest hits album, TwerkAnomics. The album includes singles like "Kash Only", "Petty", and "Next Caller".
