Lee Ann Womack was born and raised in Jacksonville, Texas, the United States. Her birth date is August 19, 1966. She was born to her father, Aubrey Womack who was a full-time high school principal and a part-time disc jockey. Her mother, Ann Womack was a school teacher. She was the second child of two daughters of her parents. She has an older sister named Judy Womack. She holds American citizenship and she belongs to the Scottish-American ethnicity. • Lee Ann Womack was interested in country music at an early age. She has also studied piano as a child and her father often took her to work with him to help choose records to play on the air.
• In 1995, Womack began performing her music in songwriting demos and at showcase concerts. While performing those showcase concerts, she was spotted by Tree publishing, who signed her after listening to one of her original demo recordings.
