Marlon Wayans was born on 23 July 1972. His birth name is Marlon Lamont Wayans. He was born to a father Howell Wayans, and a mother, Elvira Wayans. He belongs to African-American ancestry. His birthplace is in New York City, New York in the United States. He holds American nationality. His family was involved with Jehovah's Witnesses. He grew up in the housing projects of New York City. He is the youngest of 10 siblings. He has 4 brothers, Shawn Wayans, Damon Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Dwayne Wayans, and 5 sisters, Kim Wayans, Diedre Wayans, Elvira Wayans, Nadia Wayans, and Vonnie Wayans.

Career of Marlon Wayans

Marlon Wayans made his acting debut as a pedestrian in the 1988 American action comedy parody film, I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. The film was directed by his brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans.

He made his first television appearance in the 1991 television series, The Best of Robert Townsend & His Partners in Crime.

Between 1992 and 1993, He appeared with his siblings on an American sketch comedy television series, In Living Color.

He co-starred with his brother, Shawn Wayans in the WB sitcom The Wayans Bros from 1995 to 1999. 

He was considered for the role of Robin in the 1992 film, Batman Returns. However, the character was omitted from the film. He was later signed for the role in the 1995 sequel Batman Forever. But, change in directors resulted in both parts being recast and Wayans being paid out. He still receives some royalty payments to date. 

He produced the first two films of the Scary Movie series. He and his brother, Shawn was credited, writers and co-stars. 

In 2000, he appeared as Tyrone C. Love in Requiem for a Dream and as Snails in Dungeons & Dragons. 

Marlon and his brother, Shawn hosted the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

In 2006, he produced the Nickelodeon cartoon series, Thugaboo. 

In 2017, NBC gave him his own 10-episode sitcom, Marlon. NBC renewed Marlon for a second season in September 2017. 

In September 2017, Variety announced that Wayans would be partnering up with LA-based entertainment company Shot Studios to launch his own YouTube channel.

He is the writer and producer of various films such as Dance Flick, A Haunted House, A Haunted House 2, Fifty Shades of Black, and He will write and produce 3rd part of A Haunted House titled A Haunted House 3.
