She pleaded guilty and was convicted of two counts of second-degree child rape. She was sentenced to six months in the county jail and three years of sex offender treatment.

Two weeks later, after completing the jail sentence, on February 3, 1998, she was found having sexual relations with Fualaau in her car. She was arrested, and police found $6,200 cash, baby clothes, and her passport inside her car.
