Robert Peter Williams, popularly known as Robbie Williams is an English singer-songwriter and entertainer. He rose to prominence as a member of the pop group Take That from 1989 to 1995. Robbie William was born on 13 February 1974. His birth name is Robert Peter Williams. His birth place is in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire in England. He holds American nationality. He was born to a father, Peter Williams, and a mother, Janet Williams. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. He has a sister, Sally Williams. 

He attended St Margaret Ward Catholic School in Tunstall. He later attended dance school UKDDF in Tunstall. At school, he participated in several school plays. 

Musical Career

He joined the band Take That via audition in 1990 as the youngest member of the group. He was only 16 then. 

He performed lead vocals on the band's several hit songs including "Could It Be Magic", "I Found Heaven", and "Everything Changes".

He started involving in conflicts with Martin-Smith over the restrictive rules. He became addicted to cocaine and alcohol. He almost had a drug overdose in November 1994, the night before the group was scheduled to perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards. His behavior, poor attendance, and addiction led to the group to tour without him. He left the group in July 1995. 

The group continued their career as a group but later disbanded in February 1996.  

He faced legal battle over his right to a solo career. He finally signed with Chrysalis Records in June 1996.

He later rejoined the group in July 2010. Their album, Progress released in November 2010 became the fastest selling album since 2000 and the second fastest selling album in UK history. 

He did not return for the group's seventh and eighth studio album but continued to write music and perform with the group on several occasions. 

He plans on returning for a full tour to celebrate Take That's 25th anniversary. 

Solo Career

He launched his solo career releasing the cover of George Micahel's "Freedom" in 1996. 

He released his debut solo studio album, Life thru a Lens in September 1997.
