He is also one of the co-authors of the original XML specification. He is best known for working with Amazon Web Services from 2014 to 2020. He previously worked for Google, Sun Microsystems, and DEC. He quit Amazon in May 2020 over Amazon's treatment of warehouse workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and their firings of whistleblowers raising those concerns.
