Varun Dhawan was born on 24th April 1987 in Maharastra, India. He holds Indian Nationality. He was born to an Indian film director David Dhawan, who has given hits movies like 'Judwaa', 'Biwi no.1', 'Coolie no.1', etc. in Bollywood and Karuna Dhawan, mother. Varun has an elder brother Rohit Dhawan, who is also a film director and his uncle Anil Dhawan, an actor. Belonging to the celebrity family and having a background of film industry  Varun always knew that he wanted to be an entertainer. His zodiac sign is Taurus.

Varun Dhawan did his basic schooling from Bombay Scottish School of Mumbai, he was a bright student and even had scored 82% in 10th standard. Then he completed his HSC from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics and went to the UK to do a degree in Business Management from one of the best universities, Nottingham Trent University. But he left the graduation undone, to start his career in the film industry, so Varun Dhawan can be said as a superstar just made for the Bollywood.

This movie reiterated his affair with masala entertainers, besides proved him as a capable actor who can perform great even with first time director.

- In 2015, Varun was seen in crime thriller "Badlapur", where he played a role of a man who intended to take revenge of loss of his family, which he called as his "terrifying" experience. It was his first actual success, with his fan following providing his initial impetus. Dhawan's next starred movie was a dance sequel "ABCD2" in which he played a real-life character of Suresh Mukund, a dancer from Mumbai who won the 2012 "World Hip Hop Dance Championship".

- ABCD 2 earned 1.57 billion rupees (US$ 22 million) worldwide, that led "Box Office India" to consider it as the emergence of "Dhawan's star power". His final appearance in the year 2015 was in action drama movie "Dilwale", alongside Shah Rukh Khan that also had an earning of 400crore rupees. - Varun then was starred in the action humor movie "Dishoom" in 2016, directed by his brother Rohit Dhawan, that also turned out to be successful at the box office.

- In 2017, Varun Dhawan was cast in a romantic comedy movie "Badrinath Ki Dulhania", that as well turned out to be commercially a huge success, where Dhawan was said as "He portrays a right scene for a boy-struggling-to-be-a-man".

- This movie got Dhawan his second "Best Actor Nomination". Later, in the same year, Dhawan was starred in his father's comedy sequel "Judwaa 2", grossing 2 billion(US$ 28 million).

- Latest movie of Varun Dhawan of 2019, is 1940's prior movie "Kalank", where he is featured as a blacksmith and he has given his 500% hard work to his character and movie's promotions. Labeling it as "Meatiest role of Dhawan's Career", Kalank is set as the biggest opening of the year with a large earning of 26.5 crores in the opening day.
